The first step is to complete our online adoption application. Once reviewed, a member of our team will contact you to discuss your circumstances, lifestyle and what you're looking for in a dog.

If everything is suitable, we'll invite you to visit and meet our available dogs in person. Our aim isn't simply to process applications — it's to help you find a dog who can become a much-loved member of your family.

Absolutely — please do! You're always welcome to call or text us if you have a question, would like an update, or want to discuss your application or available dogs.

We value every application we receive. At busy times our small team may be caring for dogs, arranging transport or helping adopters, so occasionally it may take us a little longer to respond. Please don't feel you're bothering us by following up — every application matters to us.

Please don't be discouraged — your journey with us doesn't have to end there. We welcome new rescue dogs approximately every 4–6 weeks, and upcoming arrival dates are announced on our website.

If the dog you originally applied for has found a home, or another dog may be a better match, we'll continue working with you. Your dog may simply be in the next group waiting to come to the UK.

Our dogs come from many different backgrounds — some abandoned or found on the streets, some surrendered, and others rescued from shelters, illegal breeders or difficult living conditions. We work closely with a rescue shelter in Minsk, Belarus, as well as rescue organisations elsewhere in Eastern Europe, including Poland.

We only work with authorised and registered shelters and rescue organisations — never unknown or unverified individuals. Whenever we know a dog's history, we share it; for some dogs, parts of their past may never be known.

Yes, absolutely. Angels Souls Dog Rescue operates under the Approved Importer Scheme (AIS) with the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) for the importation of rescue dogs into Great Britain.

Before travelling, each dog is subject to the applicable veterinary, identification and animal-health procedures, is examined by a veterinary practitioner, and travels with the appropriate official health and identification documentation. We take the legal, safe and responsible transport of our dogs extremely seriously.

We provide all health information known to us at adoption, but no rescue can guarantee that a dog will never develop a medical condition. Some dogs may have experienced malnutrition, neglect, limited socialisation or little veterinary care, and where a dog's past is unknown, some things may only become apparent with time.

With kindness, patience, good care and the security of a loving home, many blossom into happy, affectionate and incredibly devoted companions.

For dogs to which the rabies antibody titration requirement applies, the dog must first be appropriately microchipped and vaccinated against rabies. Where a titration test is required:

• the blood sample is taken at least 30 days after the primary rabies vaccination;
• the sample must be tested by an appropriately approved/designated laboratory;
• the rabies antibody result must be at least 0.5 IU/ml; and
• after the sample is taken, the dog must complete the required 3-calendar-month waiting period before travel.

This is one of the main reasons preparing a rescue dog can take approximately 4–6 months. Important: this 3-month waiting period should not be confused with formal rabies quarantine. Safety, legality and animal welfare come before speed.

We believe adopters should understand not only what we do, but why. Further information on the animal-health and import requirements is published by:

Many are, but every dog is different — our adverts describe what we know about each dog's behaviour and experience. Even when both dogs are friendly, a new arrival can cause initial territorial behaviour, jealousy or uncertainty, which doesn't necessarily mean they're unsuitable for each other.

Introductions should be calm and gradual: give both dogs their own space, supervise interactions, and initially manage food, high-value toys, treats and sleeping areas carefully. Some become friends immediately; others need days or weeks. Please contact us if you need support.

Our adoption contributions currently range from approximately £250 to £1,000. We want to be completely transparent about how our system works and, most importantly, what those contributions make possible.

Because of veterinary, animal-health and travel requirements, preparing an individual dog can take approximately 4–6 months and can include shelter and food, vaccinations, microchipping, veterinary examinations, neutering or spaying, blood tests, parasite treatments, mandatory waiting periods, documentation, transport, customs and administration. The overall cost of rescuing and bringing a dog to the UK can be around £1,500 per dog. As a self-financed rescue, adoption contributions help us recover at least some of these costs.

The band relates only to the adoption contribution. It is not a grade or ranking of the dog. Every dog is equally important and equally deserving of a loving home.

These are illustrative estimates, not a fixed price list. This is why a contribution of £250, £350 or even £1,000 doesn't necessarily cover the full cost of that individual dog.

We understand circumstances can change, and our dogs always have a place with us — we will always accept an Angels Souls rescue dog back into our care.

If you're experiencing difficulties or considering rehoming, please contact us first. We ask that our dogs are not privately sold, given away or rehomed without contacting us first. Sometimes a problem can be resolved with support, advice or time; if it can't, we'll accept the dog back and take responsibility for finding another suitable home.
